Panoramic maps have long been popular. They are available as postcards or in tourism brochures and travel books / -magazines.
A distinction must be made between the meticulously drawn bird's-eye views (by Heinrich C. Berann and others), the more humorously tinged cards with miniature pictures of places of interest that are found in the work of Alfred Hoppe and other graphically designed cards. Mixed forms also occur.
